If you look at the prime plate, and turn it 90 makes a lot more sense except for the fact that the plate is not an exact square so it can't be mounted to the frame that way. When the Logitec was mounted it was no big deal because it had its own base and the grooves were far enough apart to make it work.Įvery other sim pedal plate that I have looked at, while they may have vertical grooves for adjustability, their grooves are horizontal, allowing for both up, down, and side to side adjustment.for 3 pedals. Otherwise the pedals are too far apart to connect to one another without an extension cable of some sort, and even then, you could only mount 2 pedals. Buy the Huesinkveld plate, or drill holes in the prime plate. You need to look at the plate to really know what I'm talking about but.the grooves on the stock plate are vertical which makes mounting these pedals properly, impossible unless you do one of 2 things. I recently upgraded my Logitec pedals to Heusinkveld Sprints (no additional base plate) and I found that the freakin holes don't line up. I'm new to sim racing, I just built my first rig and I went with the Prime. It was the most difficult part to get right.īeing a two piece reclining seat, it does flex a little, but I prefer the comfort of it over a hardback bucket seat.
The seat rails were short and wouldn't clear the bottom bolster so they ended up blocking the bolt holes on the rails. The seat itself was easy to assemble but it was a pain in the neck to get it installed onto the rig itself. I ordered the GT XL separately because I initially planned on sourcing a junk yard seat but that plan fell through. I found the angle brackets too tall even at their lowest position, and the default angle of the pedals is comfortable for my use case. The wheelbase is rigid, no flex, as is the pedal deck the upgraded pedal deck is really sturdy.įor my CSL Elite Pedals with the load cell, I have set the pedal base flush with the rig. The end caps they give you for both the extrusions and the brackets are really handy and complete the look of the build. Parts: the parts themselves are well polished, be careful with the exposed extrusion because it's really sharp.
Just be careful with the paint because it does scratch easily and never tighten something all the way down until you've measured and are sure that is the final position. The thinner aluminium profile they use makes it light without sacrificing quality. Even with the leveling casters I have installed, one on each corner, the rig is solid. Rigidity: very rigid, no flex and very sturdy.
Also get some Allen bits for a drill that way your assembly goes faster. Your lower back and knees will thank you. Assembly: fairly easy and straight forward but if you're gonna build it, do so on a workbench or something that is at least waist level.
